Star-Telegram:The Mavericks added a much-needed body to their depleted swingman rotation with the signing Sunday of free agent Adrian Griffin to a non-guaranteed contract at the veteran's minimum salary for the rest of the season.
The 6-foot-5 guard/forward, who traveled with the team to Toronto, has played six seasons in the NBA, including the 2001-02 and '02-03 seasons with the Mavs. Griffin, 31, has averaged 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Of his 131 career starts, 82 have come with the Mavs. He averaged a career-high 7.2 points in '01-02 and started 48 games as the Mavs went 60-22 the next season. Mavs coach Avery Johnson was Griffin's teammate both seasons.
