suntimes:Bulls general manager John Paxson did not mince words when he dismissed a report broadcast on the ESPN2 morning program that the Bulls were talking trade with the Boston Celtics -- a deal said to feature a swap of Boston's Paul Pierce for the Bulls' Ben Gordon.
''Whoever is reporting that is absolutely irresponsible because there is nothing based in fact in that rumor, whatever you want to call it,'' Paxson said after his team's practice.
''I resent, and I think a lot of us in this position resent, having to answer to these things all the time. It's not based in any fact whatsoever. All it does is a disservice to our player.
''Now you're going to talk to them; you're going to say something to them, and they're going to have to answer a question that they shouldn't have to answer. All that is going on now is people are just throwing stuff out there and hoping something sticks, and it's absolutely irresponsible. Whoever is talking about this has no clue what they're talking about.
''And that's it.''
