Kobe Scores 50 for the 4th Straight Game

Kobe Bryant is making 50-point games look routine. Bryant finished with exactly 50, becoming only the second NBA player to hit that mark in four straight games and leading Los Angeles to a 111-105 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night. Bryant followed scoring totals of 65, 50 and 60 in his previous three games, all Lakers victories.

Only Wilt Chamberlain has exceeded that mark, scoring at least 50 points in seven consecutive games during the 1961-62 season.

Bryant calmly made all 16 free throws he attempted while the opposing crowd tried to rattle him with arm-waving taunts.

See thats the problem with people like you. You don't got to like him. This is the NBA not flavor of love. Kobe isn't gonna win your heart as a individual, but you gotta give props to what he does on the court. The man is spectacular and can really be a problem for any defender out there. I wish him the best. The guy needs someone to help him out and I'm sure the Lakers will look into that more than ever this upcoming offseason. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

damn. That sucks. I still think he is spectatcular. Its amazing if you reach over 20 points per game. But he got 50 points in 4 straight games and then 43 the next. He has talent. I got to give you props ClubKnicks for that quote "DOn't hate the player, hate the game" Its true.

They were double-teaming him off the ball. On the offensive end the Lakers were basically playing 4 on 3.

Kind of funny how people say it he only got 43 points! Even though that is A LOT if you playing in this league.

Also, now that this out burst has passed, any time a player scores lets say 30, I just think of it as average, as if this were 2-3 years ago I would of been impressed.

I don't think its offensive if someone says that Kobe only scores 43 points. Its definitely not meant to be offensive. Its simply a reflection of how high Kobe has set the standards. He is unquestionably one of the best scorers this game has ever seen! When you have consecutives scoring outputs of over 50 points per game, then yea, when you don't score in the 50s people will say "only" whatever points.

Kobe may idolize Jordan but if he's as truly confident as he is then he wants to be better. Better as in make his own legacy not try to take over one. The reason for the jersey change was not to say 24 > 23 but 24 is a rebith of his game. He had a lot of good times with number 8 but Kobe not only needed to change his image, but his number so ppl can see him different. You unfortunately haven't seen it that way and it's cool because he can't and isn't going to win the hearts of everyone. Just like everyone won't like you for who you are.

The only thing he's asking for is to respect the level of basketball he plays. Just like you want people to respect the level of your maturity or whole being as a person. Kobe isn't Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, or Steve Nash. Those players are the ones who specialize in making their teammates better. Ever since Bryant join the NBA you could clearly see that the guy is built to score. Like an assassin is built to kill. Asking Kobe to change his whole game is like asking yourself to be a completely different person. What Kobe does need to do that I can agree with some people is that he needs to grow. Learn from his wrongs and try to lesson his mistakes to do better.

Lakers don't need another Kobe. Lakers need a person who can help enhance Kobe and the others. Jason Kidd would of been a perfect fit. It didn't happen but you could only image if Bryant was now left alone to do what he does best while Kidd would help make the other players better.

Remember even Jordan himself had flaws. Still he was considered and argued at times as one of the best players to ever play the game. If you're gonna criticize Kobe for running Shaq out of the Lakers then your just picking on whats not really needed to be discussed about because I don't care what he does personally. All I care about is the fact that he wants to win for his team. Nobody is perfect, but nobody is innocent either.

Shaq also bring a lot of issues to the table that caused him to leave. It's not like everything was on Kobe.

This is my last reply on kobe cause this is a knick forum so i dont even know why im talking about Kobe (A.K.A Selfish) But im glad shaq left L.A he took Miami to the next level something that kobe will never do with L.A. unless he changes his gameplay witch will never happen cause its all about him he is NOT A TEAM PLAYER.

Because Kobe has so much talent, he is going to have numerous haters and numerous fans. I bet JOrdan went through the same thing. I just don't see how kobe is selfish.
