See thats the problem with people like you. You don't got to like him. This is the NBA not flavor of love. Kobe isn't gonna win your heart as a individual, but you gotta give props to what he does on the court. The man is spectacular and can really be a problem for any defender out there. I wish him the best. The guy needs someone to help him out and I'm sure the Lakers will look into that more than ever this upcoming offseason. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
You know what bro i dont get how can some ppl like a guy like kobe......this is a guy that made the best center ever leave LA (shaq) just cause he wanted to be the go to guy and now he has the nervs to change his number to 24 trying to be better then jordan.point is he will never be better then jordan and will never have has much rings as jordan just cause he thinks hes the s*** well guess what he is the s***.
one word...... SELFISH!!!!
Kobe may idolize Jordan but if he's as truly confident as he is then he wants to be better. Better as in make his own legacy not try to take over one. The reason for the jersey change was not to say 24 > 23 but 24 is a rebith of his game. He had a lot of good times with number 8 but Kobe not only needed to change his image, but his number so ppl can see him different. You unfortunately haven't seen it that way and it's cool because he can't and isn't going to win the hearts of everyone. Just like everyone won't like you for who you are.
The only thing he's asking for is to respect the level of basketball he plays. Just like you want people to respect the level of your maturity or whole being as a person. Kobe isn't Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, or Steve Nash. Those players are the ones who specialize in making their teammates better. Ever since Bryant join the NBA you could clearly see that the guy is built to score. Like an assassin is built to kill. Asking Kobe to change his whole game is like asking yourself to be a completely different person. What Kobe does need to do that I can agree with some people is that he needs to grow. Learn from his wrongs and try to lesson his mistakes to do better.
Lakers don't need another Kobe. Lakers need a person who can help enhance Kobe and the others. Jason Kidd would of been a perfect fit. It didn't happen but you could only image if Bryant was now left alone to do what he does best while Kidd would help make the other players better.
Remember even Jordan himself had flaws. Still he was considered and argued at times as one of the best players to ever play the game. If you're gonna criticize Kobe for running Shaq out of the Lakers then your just picking on whats not really needed to be discussed about because I don't care what he does personally. All I care about is the fact that he wants to win for his team. Nobody is perfect, but nobody is innocent either.
Shaq also bring a lot of issues to the table that caused him to leave. It's not like everything was on Kobe.
