Kidd Would Be OK With L.A.

Kidd Would Be OK With L.A.

Link:Jason Kidd is not playing in tomorrow's All-Star Game but sounded like he would like to be playing for the Lakers.

Kidd waxed nostalgic about growing up a Lakers fan and said he wouldn't be upset if he became a Laker.

"With the history of the Lakers, you definitely can't be disappointed," Kidd said. "With the tradition they have as a franchise, you couldn't be disappointed."

The Lakers have had trade talks with the Nets about Kidd. At one point Kidd said, when asked what team he wants to play for, "A team that could win a championship."

Kidd said of the Nets' bid to trade him, "They have to see what's best for the franchise. It's hard to say we're underachieving with all the injuries. That's the nature of the business. It only takes one team. You always have one bag packed. You never know."

If Nets are seriously considering sending Kidd to Lakers they better hold out for Bynum. Or at least for something better than Kwame Brown.

GS Warriors are trying to get in on the action and they might have a better package to offer for Kidd.

LinkWould the Nets accept, say, Jason Richardson (four years and $55M left after this one), Adonal Foyle (two years and $19M) and rising-free-agent Michael Pietrus? If Jason Collins (two years and $12.3M) were included in the deal, most certainly!

Baron would make much more sense than Richardson. GS would have three very good guys ast the point in Davis, Ellis (probably an undersized 2 guard), and Kidd. But, Warriors offer> Lakers offer. I'm sure Kidd would love to return back to the Bay Area.

Kidd and Kobe would be insane. If he would be traded to the Lakers it would be in a three team deal though with NJ getting Magloire and Lakers getting Kidd for those who didn't get it.

Im kinda disappointed that Nets didn't trade either Kidd or Vince. I guess Knicks made some inquiries but im glad that didn't work out.

If Kidd would have been traded to the Lakers, that would have been the next Kobe and Shaq duo. Except that Kobe isn't a Center. Thats an amazing duo.

Looks like it was suppose to go down and it didn't. Kind of sad, Kidd seems very dissappointed and I'm sure most Laker fans are too.
