James, Cavs look extend streak to 10 in a row

NEW YORK (Ticker) - Superstar swingman LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers bring their nine-game winning streak to the "Big Apple" on Wednesday when they visit the New York Knicks.
James had 37 points and seven assists and Drew Gooden scored 23 points as Cleveland coasted to a 124-91 triumph over Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Cavaliers had six players score in double figures as they shot 56 percent (47-of-83) from the floor.
Cleveland might be without center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who left early in the first quarter with a sprained ankle. However, Larry Hughes returned to the lineup against the 76ers after missing the pervious 45 games with a right finger fracture, and the 6-5 combo guard scored 10 points in 19 minutes.
Forward Jackie Bulter scored a career-high 22 points and Steve Francis added 15 as the Knicks dropped a their ninth straight game, a 105-90 decision at Washington on Tuesday.
The Knicks have committed an average of 18.6 turnovers over their current slide.
In their last meeting January 10, Jamal Crawford scored 26 points off the bench and Stephon Marbury added 22 as New York posted a 92-84 victory. James registered 36 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in a losing effort.

Knicks End Streaks by Beating Cavaliers
Reca:NEW YORK, April 5 (Ticker) -- Jamal Crawford helped the New York Knicks put an end two a pair of long streaks.
Crawford scored a season-high 37 points, including a fadeway jumper with 6.4 seconds remaining, as the Knicks ended a nine-game losing skid with a 96-94 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who had nine-game winning streak snapped.

Eddy Curry added 16 points and Jackie Butler 12 for New York (20-54), which did its best to squander a 74-57 lead entering the final period.
After Crawford's jumper snapped a 94-94 tie, the Cavaliers went for the win. LeBron James drove the lane and passed to the corner, where Larry Hughes missed a 3-pointer as time expired.
Crawford made 13-of-24 shots in 45 minutes.
James scored 21 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter for Cleveland (45-30). It was the eighth straight game that James scored at least 35 points.
Drew Gooden added 19 points and Ronald Murray 18 for the Cavs, who lead fifth-place Washington by 5 1/2 games in the Eastern Conference.
