Knicks carry winning streak to Toronto
preview:TORONTO (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks look to remain perfect in 2006 against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
The resurgent Knicks won their sixth straight in Friday's 105-94 victory over Atlanta. Jamal Crawford led five players in double figures with 23 points and New York pulled away down the stretch to get coach Larry Brown his 1,000th career victory.
Brown is the fourth coach in NBA history to reach the milestone and has guided the Knicks to within a victory of their first seven-game winning streak since December 22, 2000-January 7, 2001.
Stephon Marbury has been the catalyst of late and finished Friday's win with 19 points, nine assists and four steals.
However, Marbury has had a few struggles on the road this season, averaging 5.4 points and 1.0 assists fewer away from home. He will try to reverse that trend against a Raptors squad that has won six of their last eight, including four of five at home.
Toronto snapped a two-game slide with Wednesday's 95-86 victory here over Charlotte. Chris Bosh scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Morris Peterson had 18 and 11 in the win.
Mike James added 24 points and seven assists for the Raptors, who took three of four meetings with the Knicks last season after a 2-10 stretch in the series.
FINAL SCORE
Knicks - 103
Raptors - 129
