Preview:The New York Knicks hope to avoid their longest losing streak of the season when they host the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

The Knicks are in the midst of a a five-game slide, matching the slump they suffered through during their 0-5 start. They have lost seven of their last eight games overall.

New York is coming off Friday's 122-111 loss in Atlanta in which it allowed the Hawks to shoot a league season-high 63 percent (43-of-62), including 12-of-16 from the arc.

Jamal Crawford scored 23 points and Stephon Marbury added 21 for the Knicks, who were without center Eddy Curry after the 7-footer sprained his ankle in practice Thursday. His status for Saturday's contest is uncertain.

Indiana has not let the controversy involving Ron Artest stop the club from winning three of its four games since the enigmatic forward requested to be traded.

The Pacers posted a 93-83 home win over Utah on Saturday behind the efforts of star Jermaine O'Neal, who collected 27 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.

Stephen Jackson and Austin Croshere each scored 16 points for Indiana, which held the Jazz to 4-for-19 (21 percent) shooting in the final period.

The Knicks and Pacers split their four meetings last season, with each team winning once on the other's court.

FINAL SCORE

WOW you guys have a tough time. A good off-season, great draft, a great coach and so much optimistic fans and the result is they are worse than ever. Believe it or not Brown is not the right guy for this roster. They don´t have the personell to play his philosophy. Knicks need to play more offensive IMO. Frye is doing great but he won´t be ROY with Paul being a lock.

But as a non-knick fan I must also criticize Frye. IMO he doesn´t seem to have the greatest IQ or is it just me? don´t flame me please
I have seen 3-4 Knicks games and Frye plays like a richman Slava Medvedenko. He has a great mid-range jumper and he can score on a high percentage but my problems are
1.He shoots too much without going inside. All mid-range J´s
2.He shoots too often, basically every touch is a shot attempt
3. His D and rebounding needs some real work. he needs more weight.

All in all of course you can´t compare him to Slava (Slava SUCKS hard) but Frye now requires double teams and IMO he needs to learn to find the open man and not alwayys look for his shot. he has a trememndous upside and he shouldn´t turn to be a softie in a couple of years. Knicks better not waste that talent.
So I haven´t seen too much Knicks and if I´m wrong please set my mind straight before I spam other boards with that crap. :jam2:
