Preview:The Atlanta Hawks look for their third win in four outings Friday when they host the struggling New York Knicks.

Coming off a 13-win season, Atlanta dropped 16 of its first 18 contests before registering two victories against quality opponents. Atlanta topped defending-champion San Antonio on Saturday and got by Cleveland on Tuesday.

Al Harrington scored 27 points and Tyronn Lue added 21 for Atlanta, which failed in its bid for a three-game winning streak in Wednesday's 106-101 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Knicks have averaged just 85.5 points during a four-game losing streak and yielded 23-of-37 3-pointers in their past two outings.

Eddy Curry scored 23 points and Quentin Richardson added a season-high 16 for the Knicks, who lost for the sixth time in seven contests in Wednesday's 105-90 loss to the Orlando Magic.

The Knicks won three of the four encounters against the Hawks last season.

FINAL SCORE

Knicks - 111

Hawks - 122

Box Score

The Hawks were hitting early and often in a 122-111 victory over New York. Atlanta shot 63 percent, including 12-of-16 from 3-point range. Joe Johnson scored a career-high 36 and Al Harrington added 35 points as each sank six treys.

New York allowed 39 points in the first period Friday and never caught up. The Knicks' season-best offensive output came on 48 percent shooting, led by Jamal Crawford's 8-of-9 effort for 23 points.

Knicks should just put out a defensive starting lineup because the current one stinks

Curry
Frye or Butler
Ariza
Hardaway
Robinson

Marbury hasn't shown any kind of defense as of late. Maybe puttng him on the bench can make him realize that he isn't helping us.

If this team loses, I won't be surprised if a trade is made.
