RealGM:According to Larry Brown, Qyntel Woods will survive the Jan. 10 deadline when his contract becomes guaranteed. Woods has beaten out Trevor Ariza as backup SF to David Lee.
If Woods didn't pan out, the Knicks planned on cutting him and signing a player to a 10-day contract.
"I'm not worried about the January deadline," Brown said. "I thought that was a great pickup to get a first-round kid in the draft that athletic and still that young. Hopefully he'll be around for a long time."
