It's time for Marbury to be dealt

Postby ClubKnicks on Sat Nov 19, 2005 12:16 pm

nydailynews:Marbury needs to be traded. We all know the hurdles that have to be cleared to get that accomplished. The $70-plus million left on his contract. His reputation for improving teams - after he leaves. The negative effect he has on his teammates, and on his team's won-lost record. The list is endless.

But he's got to go. The Brown program, which continued last night with another loss against the Nuggets, isn't going to make any progress if Marbury continues to buck his coach's system. If anything, his continued presence will prevent the team from going forward.

Marbury has made it clear that if the Knicks keep losing - they're 2-7 now after going 2-4 on the West Coast trip - he won't be happy doing things Brown's way. So it's going to only get uglier because this team isn't going to find the win column many times. Not in this present state.

It's getting more and more serious. And I love Marbury's game but the pressure is on both him and Brown. Isiah has the pin to pop one of them and you know he isn't looking to put anything on Brown.

Two things I wanna make a note of that bold comment.

1 - After 4 years, A.I. has yet to take his team to the promise land and they do have a group of talented players.

2 - Marbury has already stated frustration. As much as we are willing to wait, he doesn't want to.

All Marbury needs is one break out game where he drops 20 or more with 8 dishes or so and that should put some confidence inside him and to also trust Brown's system more.

Larry should really give the rookies some playing time earlier during the game. Maybe let the vets sit out more because when those youngers are on the court they change the tempo of the game. A lot of mistakes are going to be made but they shown they can handle it. Frye dropped 22 on the last game against a Nuggets playoff team.

Marbury needs a team that will COMPLIMENT HIM, not just a bunch of talented scorers around him. They need a tough nosed defender, a tall point guard (so marbs can play SG on offense and PG on defense) I would LOOVE for Pietrus or Dunleavy to come over. Perhaps if we really do get KG Jaric could come too. Jaric would DEFINATELY compliment Marbury.

Also, they need 1 bigman that can hit an 18 footer (we have that already in Channing)

and a big man that has good hands (ehhh, eddy is getting there)

Building around Marbs is easy, no one just ever thought of it yet.

Yeah he just hasn't had that "fit" yet. Once it comes, he will be finally recognized. I cant wait for him to succed if he does so, because I get sick of the critics and haters :man5:
