Marcus, we miss you

Most Knicks fans trace their team's demise to the decision to trade Patrick Ewing in 2000 rather than let his contract expire and rebuild. But an equally strong case can be made for former team president Scott Layden's decision to trade Marcus Camby to Denver for Antonio McDyess four years ago.

McDyess was injured in his first preseason game, missed the 2002-03 season and was playing hurt when Layden was fired the following season. Two weeks after Isiah Thomas replaced Layden, he traded McDyess to Phoenix for Stephon Marbury, and the Suns used McDyess' expiring contract to clear salary-cap room to sign Steve Nash, last season's NBA MVP.

Camby returns to the Garden tonight as the shot-blocking, rebounding force for Northwest Division-leading Denver (35-29), which faces the pathetic Knicks (17-44). Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. Never more so than in Camby's case. - GREG LOGAN

That boy should shut-up. Play one of there players 1 on 1 and your the one that's going to be pathetic. He would probably lose 21-0 against Qyntel Woods. But yea the Knicks did a mistake trading Camby for McDyess. It was injury after injury for him in New York. If we didn't trade him. We probably wouldn't have Curry right now. And would be in the playoff contention because we would have a defensive stopper. Oh well you can't go back to the past and change the future.
