In Brown vs. Jackson, Bryant Rules Again

Postby ClubKnicks on Thu Nov 17, 2005 12:48 pm

nytimes: Bryant shook off a poor first half and scored 42 points in a 97-92 victory over the Knicks at the Staples Center. Isiah Thomas, the Knicks' president, who tried to woo Bryant two summers ago, was in the building, perhaps feeling wistful about a coach and a star guard he failed to land.

The victory pushed the Lakers back to .500 (4-4) and dropped the Knicks to 2-6, ending their winning streak at two games.

"They've got two of the best players in basketball," Brown said, referring to Bryant and Lamar Odom (13 points, 9 rebounds). "And they've got a coach who is phenomenal coach. That's what they're supposed to do."

Well considering how they played last night. Marbury needed to step up but he didn't. If the Knicks want to win some games against calibur teams they need to identify themselves.

Agreed. In fact I completely forgot that the Knicks had Stephon on their team in the 2nd half. It was like he vanished from the game.

Smush played some good D on him, but I think a lot of it was Stephon's own doing as well.
