STEPH'S '07 MAY BE OVER
April 8, 2007 -- MILWAUKEE - Stephon Marbury wore a boot and a suit last night - his season, maybe his most complete one, possibly over.
Marbury said his turf toe could keep him out the rest of the season. A driving Marbury re-aggravated the injury Friday night vs. the Timberwolves, banging his toe against Mike James' foot, then again against the floor.
Marbury had to wear a boot on his right foot just to move around. The toe swelled up significantly yesterday morning, and the painkilling shot he took during Friday's game didn't help.
When asked if he's done for the season, Marbury said, "I don't know. I want to play. I took that shot yesterday [Friday] thinking it would help. I'm going to let the doctors and trainers decide."
Marbury's potential season-ending injury is an appropriate capper to a once-promising season that crashed dramatically last month with a lot injuries. Quentin Richardson and Jamal Crawford were already out for the season and Steve Francis is still on the shelf.
